July 4, 2012, Newark, NJ – Instead of celebrating the 4th of July and the “freedoms” many claim we all enjoy in the United States, members of the Newark Anti-Violence Coalition gathered near Bergen Street and West Runyon in Newark, New Jersey to remember Sabrina Hall by calling for an end to the violence and self hate in our communities. Communities across the country face an epidemic of violence. The communities are trapped in fear of violence and paralyzed by lack of hope. NAVC is working to bring a sense of urgency and direction to communities. We can make a difference in our city.
